How long it takes for a coronavirus patient to recover depends on the severity of the infection, the patient’s age, and other conditions. Many people infected with corona recover within 12 to 24 days. Some may take 30 days or more. Again, some serious patients may take 12 to 18 months to recover. The biggest problem is that many corona patients, even after recovery, occasionally have mild shortness of breath, shortness of breath with little effort, and shortness of breath can lead to rapid breathing and heart problems. This is because it takes time for the damaged lungs to heal. In this case, breathing deep breathing exercises may come in handy. In addition, there are some other things to be aware of.
Talk to your doctor or chest specialist if you have respiratory problems or a decrease in oxygen saturation after recovering from corona. X-rays or CT scans of the lungs may need to be repeated. Physicians may continue steroids or other medications for a longer period of time if there is a tendency to fibrosis or hardening of the lung tissue.
After corona you can do deep breathing exercises under the supervision of a specialist physiotherapist. Some people may need inhalers. After leaving the hospital, blood thinners may need to be taken for two weeks to a month on the advice of a doctor. Those whose lungs have been damaged should not join work immediately after the corona is negative. It is better to rest completely for the first two weeks. Some people also have long-term chest pain with shortness of breath. In that case ECG or echocardiogram should consult a cardiologist.
